1st round of GFF 2nd division league winds up

The first round of the 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation second division league has finally wound up with electrifying and thrilling fixtures.

As part of week-thirteen fixtures, Brufut United beat Lions of Banjul 1-0 at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium to finish top spot in the second tier in the first round with 26 points in thirteen games.

Striker Omar Jarjue scored the only goal for Brufut United in the game to finish first position in the second division league following the completion of the first round at the weekend.

Blue Star missed the chance to top the second division league table after their goalless draw with Bakau United at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Interior thumped Young Africans 2-0 at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium to boost their hopes of returning to top flight next season after their demotion to the second division following their dismal performance in the top flight last season.

Marimoo beat PSV Wellingara 1-0 at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda to close gap on league leaders Brufut United.

Serrekunda East Bi drew 2-2 with BK Milan at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium, while Tallinding United drew 1-1 with Immigration at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.

Lamin United drew 0-0 with Red Hawks at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
