The race for the 2012-2013 Gamtel-Gamcel sponsored Gambia Football Federation (GFF) division one league title is down to wire after Real De Banjul, Gamtel and Armed Forces have all bagged vital points in their week-twenty fixture at the weekend.
With four teams, namely Steve Biko, reigning league champions Real De Banjul, Gamtel and Armed Forces, are battling it out for the league title.
Real De Banjul beat 2009-2010 league champions Gambia Ports Authority 1-0 in their week-twenty fixture played at the Banjul Mini Stadium, to keep their hopes of retaining their 2012 league crown.
Gamtel beat struggling side Young Africans 3-0 at the Brikama Mini Stadium to keep their dreams of winning their first-ever league title.
Hawks humiliated Interior 4-0 at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium, and Samger were held to a goalless draw by Armed Forces at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium
The 2010-2011 league champions, Brikama United, were held to a goalless draw with struggling Seaview at the Brikama Mini Stadium, while Steve Biko drew goalless with Bakau United in an all-Bakau derby game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Monday.
Steve Biko are so far leading the league table with 32 points in twenty games, Real De Banjul are 2nd with 32 points in twenty games, with Steve Biko leading on goal differences.
Gamtel are 3rd with 30 points in twenty games, Armed Forces are 4th with 28 points in twenty games and Hawks are 5th with 26 points in twenty games.
Brikama United, Gambia Ports Authority are 6th and 7th respectively with 25 points each in twenty games, and Samger and Bakau United are 8th and 9th positions with 24 points each in twenty games.
Seaview are 10th with 22 points in twenty games, Interior are 2nd from bottom with 21 points in twenty games, while Young Africans are rooted at the bottom with 18 points in twenty games.
