JESUS' WOMEN DISCIPLES

Jul 2, 2025, 12:15 PM

Have you ever wondered how Jesus, who openly declared that the Son of Man does not have a roof over His head, lived? Well yes, He was not gainfully employed, yet He lacked nothing.

John Mark's mother, a prominent and prosperous business women, and other women named in Luke 8:1-4 took this task upon themselves.

"The Twelve were with Him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases;"... A few of His helpers were named. But note "and many others".

Jesus did not earn a salary, but people blessed Him everywhere He went because He had a good heart. He never turned down anyone who needed His help, He would suspend what He was doing to render assistance.

Jesus' female disciples did not get front page publicity. They were in the background supporting His ministry "out of their own means." ( Lk.8:3b)

In this world money is the means of exchange, without it life could be difficult. These women knew this and stood their ground.

What do we do with our resources? Most of us selfishly spend it on ourselves and grumble to contribute towards God's work in this part of the vineyard.

Let us, like these valiant women, learn to support the work of God's earthly kingdom without seeking to be in the limelight.

Our good deeds done in secret, will be rewarded openly.

God loves a cheerful giver.
