Pa Modou Gaye: An ardent youth leader, entrepreneur

Pa Modou Gaye is a passionate youth leader, scholar and entrepreneur whose journey is rooted in service, leadership and empowerment.

Gaye is currently the Regional Youth Chairperson for North Bank Region and member of the National Youth Council-The Gambia.

He hailed from Ngayen Sanjal Village in the North Bank Region.

Gaye is an ardent youth leader, scholar and entrepreneur.

His academic path began at Ngayen Sanjal Lower and Upper Basic Schools, followed by Farafenni Senior Secondary School.

He later enrolled at The Gambia College School of Education, earning both a Diploma and an Advanced Diploma in Education, with a specialization in English Language and Agricultural Science.  

Gaye is also a certified trainer in Career Guidance and Counseling, and a recipient of multiple trainings in entrepreneurship, which inspired him to launch his own enterprise Gaye and Sons Farm.

Leadership has been a defining theme in Gaye’s life from head boy roles in all his schools to serving as District Chairperson for Sabach Sanjal District Youth Committee.

Gaye is now the Treasurer and Chairperson for North Bank Regional Youth Committee. He is a Board Member of The National Youth Council-The Gambia.

Gaye is also the Secretary General for EFaNet North Bank Chapter, Assistant Regional Youth Coordinator and Peace 360 The Gambia.

He is a Volunteer and active member in various national and international youth networks.

Mr Gaye is deeply committed to advancing youth voices, championing rural development and creating opportunities for young people to lead and thrive.

His leadership style is inclusive, community-focused and fuelled by a vision of a more empowered and productive North Bank Region. Gaye is a leader on a mission for the youth.

He actively advocates for youth voices and issues at the national and international levels, ensuring their perspectives are heard. 

Gaye is deeply involved in community initiatives, working alongside young people to address local challenges and build a better future. He supports rural development efforts, recognizing the importance of empowering youth in rural areas to reach their full potential. 

Gaye is a proponent of entrepreneurship among youth, encouraging them to start their own businesses and become economic drivers in their communities. He is involved in promoting digital rights and internet governance among young people, ensuring they have the skills and resources to navigate the digital landscape. Gaye is actively involved in youth-led initiatives, recognizing the power of young people to drive change and shape their own futures. 

He actively participates in various youth networks, both nationally and internationally, to share knowledge and best practices.
