The MOU addresses the establishment of an international licensing system for wrestlers and promoters, which aims to standardize practices and facilitate cross-border competitions.
The Gambia and Senegal also agreed to reciprocal implementation of sanctions to ensure fair play and uphold the integrity of the sport.
President of The Gambia Wrestling Association, Matarr Saine, extended gratitude to the people of Senegal for celebrating their 65th independence anniversary.
Saine highlighted the excellent relationship that exists between The Gambia and Senegal.
‘‘The MoU is a vital step forward in nurturing the love for wrestling in the region and promote collaborative efforts for future success,’’ Saine said.
President of the Senegalese Wrestling Federation, Malick Ngum, expressed delight after a productive and imperative meeting.
Ngum extended gratitude to His Excellency President Adama Barrow for his unwavering support and commitment to wrestling.
He highlighted the significance of Barrow's backing to promote wrestling.
Ngum stated that the MoU would strengthen good relationship that exists between The Gambia and Senegal.
