Giants FC, Ramdaan, Lemon Tree shine in Manjai nawettan

Giants FC, Lemon Tree, Johannes FC and Ramdaan FC have all shined in the 2024 Manjai Sports Committee (MSC) ‘nawettan’ following their brilliant run in their respective group phase matches at the Father Gough Sports Complex.

Giants FC defeated Bundas FC 1-0 during their Group E match played on Monday 2nd September 2024.

The Giant boys and league champions, Kololi Central both secured 6 points each after their back to back wins in the Manjai wet season biggest football fiesta.

Old Stars picked up their first point in the Manjai nawettan campaign following their goalless draw against Huskers in  their second Group D match played on Monday 2nd September 2024.

The  draw earned Old guards a point.

The draw puts Old Stars in good position to secure qualification to the next round of the Manjai nawettan.

Lemon Tree defeated Under 15 FC 1-0 during their second group match played on Tuesday 27th August 2024.

They now sit top-spot in Group A with 4 points in two matches.

 Under 15 snatched 3 points after winning their opening match.

In Group B, Starlight FC held Johannes to a barren goalless draw in their second group match played later on Tuesday.

The draw earned Johannes FC top-spot in Group B with 4 points after winning their opening match, while Starlight FC secured 2 points after their  back-to-back draws.

Darusalam FC were also held to a barren goalless draw against Father Gough Academy in their Group A match played on Wednesday 28th August 2024.

 Darusalam FC and Father Gough goal drought continued in the Manjai nawettan after two group matches.

 The result earned both sides third and fourth places respectively in their group.

Darussalam now secured two points, while Father Gough Academy snatched only a point after two matches.

 In Group B, the match between Kerserign and Lions Den failed to produce a goal as both teams shared points after their goalless draw during their crunch clash played on Wednesday 28th August 2024.

Ramdaan FC thrashed Ecowas FC 3-0 in their second Group D match played on Thursday 29th August 2024.

Ramdaan FC, who were backed by Smiling Coast fan club,  were too serious and rampant in front of goal against Ecowas.

They now sit top-spot in  their group with 4 points.

 Ecowas FC occupy second-place in their group with 3 points after winning their opening match.

 In Group C, London Stars came from behind to secure a point after playing a 1-1 draw against Brusubi Phase 2 in their second group match played on Thursday 29th August 2024.

Brusubi Phase 2 scored their goal through a goalkeeping howler, while London Stars levelled scores from the penalty spot-kick.

Ajax Manjai and Ballack FC drew goalless during their second Group D match played on Friday 30th August 2024.

The fans were left with no option but to walk out of the Father Gough Sports Complex  before the full-time whistle as the match could not produce any clear-cut chances.

Brusubi Extension and Box Bi played a 2-2 draw during their second Group F game played on Sunday 1st September 2024.

Both teams are still waiting for their first wins of the Manjai nawettan campaign.
