Clubs yet to begin nawettan preparations

Clubs in The Gambia are yet to start preparations for the 2020 wet season biggest football jamboree; the ‘nawettan’.
The tournament is organised and hosted by Nigeria Cricket Federation.
The Gambia team held its first training session on Sunday and its free up on Monday before facing the host nation, Nigeria.
Five countries are to take part in the tournament (Nigeria (host), The Gambia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Ghana.
The Gambia will battle it out with Sierra Leone in its second match on Saturday 2 April 2022 at the same venue.
The Gambian delegation comprising of 14 players and 4 official left The Gambia on Saturday and are expected back home on 4 April 2022.

Yunusa Badjie, head coach of newly promoted side Team Rhino FC has stated that their main target this season is to maintain themselves in the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League.
The draw for the 2021 Brikama ‘nawettan’ qualifiers was held at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama over the weekend.
Waa Banjul FC beat Samger FC 2-0 to close the gap at the top of the standings, while The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) defeated Marimoo FC 1-0 in the final game of the week-4 fixtures of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) 1 Division League played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Monday.
