Amat Cham, the head coach of BST Galaxy FC has hailed his players' performance and also commended them for collecting back-to-back maximum points after winning their opening two fixtures of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Second Division League.

BST Galaxy FC defeated Latrikunda United 2-0 during their Week-Two game of The Gambian Second Tier League played at the Bakau Mini Stadium on Wednesday.

Strikers Modou Keita and Lamin Sarr scored for BST Galaxy FC in the second period of the game following a goalless draw in the first half.

“I feel elated and very happy not only for collecting the points, but also with the way the team played, which is the way I want them to play. They stick to the way we trained and made sure they knock the ball from the defense going forward. We played behind their defense and that was how we scored our second goal,” said Coach Cham shortly after the game.

He added that the game was a difficult one despite having created a few chances in the first half. He went on to say that they came differently in the second period to be more clinical.

“I am very happy because we now played two games without conceding. My defense line is top notch because my defenders defended with their hearts which is very important.”

According to him, their objective as a team is to play football in an ideal way, adding that they are equally looking for points. However, he said their primary objective is the performance of his players.

Ansumana Fatty, the head coach of Latrikunda United also hailed his players' performance during the game but expressed disappointment with the final result.

“This is a disappointing result which I think we do not deserve. We played very well and had our chances but could not capitalize on them. Our opponents (BST) had theirs and capitalized on them.”

Coach Ansu who guided his team to a win in their opening game against Bombada FC said football is all about taking your chances, adding that his side lacked tactical discipline especially during the first half.

“If we followed instructions and played as we wanted, we could have easily won the game. We went to a stage where everybody was thinking on his own. Tactic is about connectivity, having a sense of direction and sticking to plan. But if you do not do that, there is always a problem,” he stated.

According to him, they will go back to their training ground and work on their finishing ability.
