Brikama United on Saturday overcame Real de Banjul 1-0 in their week-eleven tie played at the Live Your Dreams Sports Academy Complex in Basori to put their 2024\2025 Vista Bank-Baluwo sponsored Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division One League title aspirations on track.

The Sateyba boys were winless in their previous league outings before rubbing shoulders with Real de Banjul, who were unbeaten in their last league matches.

Real de Banjul came for the maximum points to revive their lead on the country’s Elite League table but lost to Brikama United one goal to nil.

Lamin Sibi was on the score sheet for Brikama United in the 46th minute of the match.

Real de Banjul reacted quickly for an equaliser and created numerous goal scoring opportunities but were unable to unlock Brikama United’s formidable defence line thus the match ended 1-0 in favour of Brikama United.

The City Boys still occupy top-spot on the country’s Elite League table with 21 points despite losing to Brikama United.

Brikama United now sit third-place on the First Division League table with 18 points in eleven league matches.
