Adama Jarju and her Team Tahawal Women’s Football have withdrew from the controversial Women’s Football Association’s (WFA) rescheduled elective congress amid dispute.

The controversial Women's Football Association (WFA) Elective Congress was held at the Football House in Old Yundum over weekend.

Jarju and her Team Tahawal Women Football withdrew from the rescheduled Women's Football Association (WFA) after raising serious concern over constitutional breaches.

The controversial rescheduled Women’s Football Association (WFA) Elective Congress lasted for seven hours.

“If the elections are to go ahead we are not part of it, because our stance is in line with the constitution,” Jarju and her Team Tahawal Women’s Football said.

Despite their withdrawal from the Women Football Association (WFA) raised serious constitution irregularities, the election was conducted with only two electoral committee members present following the withdrawal of the third member, who excused himself due to issues raised by some delegates during the previous elective congress.

Several delegates objected, referenced the WFA Constitution and the GFF Electoral Code which require a full committee for the election to be valid.
Controversy intensified when some delegate names were reportedly handwritten onto the list on Election Day rather than appearing on the official printed register raising questions about the legitimacy of the process.
Tensions peaked when Team Tahawal withdrew from the elective congress after observing some constitutional malpractice.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Marry Decker, distanced herself from the proceedings.

“I am not here to butcher any constitution,” Decker said.
Mrs. Decker refused to take part as she described process as an unlawful.
The Vice Chairman of the committee, Ba S. Jabbie, called for stability to move on with the election.
At the end of the elective congress, Sainabou Cham was re-elected as the president of the Women’s Football Association (WFA).

Ramou Ndow was elected as the First Vice President, while Mbemba Camara was elected as the Second Vice President.
Ebrima Ceesay was elected as the Secretary General, while Fatou Ndow was elected as the Treasurer.
