The day’s exercise attracted scores of young people and a cross-section of the community including members of the Solifo Beach Bar Association, and other key stakeholders.
Lamin Jammeh of ASBL acknowledged the strong community participation of youth especially the Village Development Committee (VDC) and all those who participated in making the day’s exercise a success.
Jammeh noted that preserving clean beaches is essential for marine conservation and the protection of livelihoods.
Alieu Mendy of the Ding Ding Yiriwa Federation highlighted the need for sustained, collective action, reminding that environmental protection requires continuous effort from all sectors of society.
Ebrima S. Jallow, chairman of the Village Development Committee, expressed gratitude to the stakeholders for the partnership, noting that such initiatives would not only foster unity, but also help in deepening awareness of environmental challenges within the community.
Fatou Faye, a representative of Solifo Beach Bar Association, emphasised the strong connection between environmental cleanliness and public health, urging residents to maintain proper sanitation habits.
Jerreh Jatta, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Seaside Football Club, underscored the importance of youth involvement in environmental protection, saying their active participation reflects a growing sense of responsibility toward safeguarding the coastline for future generations.
The clean-up exercise represents another milestone in community-led efforts to promote a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable coastal environment.
