
The visit marks a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation, following the signing of the first-ever memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two prison administrations.
During the meeting, the Minister acknowledged the importance of the MoU and reaffirmed his Ministry’s commitment to supporting its implementation. He emphasised the key areas outlined in the communique issued on 24 September, particularly the focus on strengthening joint security efforts and capacity building.
Regarding capacity building, the communique highlighted plans for joint training programmes, knowledge exchange, and technical assistance aimed at enhancing the operational readiness and professionalism of personnel from both institutions. The minister stated that these initiatives would foster mutual learning and institutional growth, laying a solid foundation for long-term collaboration.
The visit concluded with a renewed commitment to deepening the partnership and translating the provisions of the MoU into tangible, actionable outcomes.
