Established six years ago, the charitable organisation has played a vital role in supporting the development of Wellingara and surrounding communities. The latest donation included 30 bags of 25kg rice, five gallons of cooking oil, five bags of 25kg sugar, 10 bags of onions, tea boxes, praying mats, Quranic books, and kettles, among other items.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, CEO of Sen Ndogou Group, Fatou Lowe, explained that the initiative forms part of the association’s annual Ramadan support programme. “Sen Ndogou Group is a charitable organisation distributing essential commodities to those in need. For the past two years, we provided Iftar meals on the highways for people who could not reach home in time to break their fast.”
“This year, we decided to focus on families, believing that food aid will have a greater impact during these trying times,” she said. Lowe expressed gratitude to donors and individuals whose generosity made the gesture possible.
Pa Modou Jarra also thanked Qcell and other supporters, including Gambians in the Diaspora, for their contributions, noting that their assistance has enabled the association to reach this level of impact.
Representing Qcell, Momodou Barry commended Sen Ndogou Group for its tremendous work, particularly during Ramadan, and assured the association of Qcell’s continued support.
Retired educationist Malang S. Kuyateh praised the group’s foresight in helping the less privileged during the holy month, urging other organisations to emulate their example.
Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt appreciation for the aid, describing it as timely and essential in easing the burden of providing Iftar during Ramadan.
