Peace for All Organization launched

Peace for All, an organization designed to promote peace in the country was officially launched on Friday at King Fahad Mosque in Banjul.

The launch was graced by the Minister for Communication, Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, Alkalolu, Imams among other important dignitaries.

At the event, Alhagie Seedy Muktarr Gassamah, founder of the organisation said, the organisation is established to promote togetherness, unity and peace in the country.

“I observe how our religious, political and little differences affect our peace as Gambians, this is why I deem it necessary to create this organization that will enable dialogue among ourselves to understand and settle our differences.”

 “I have aged and lived most part of my life, and I believe this organization will be a point of call for reconciliation and dialogue within the country. I don’t want enmity to grow and darken our hearts, I want us to tolerate one another, preach and promote peace among us.”

Alhagie Bai Sainey Secka, called on Muslims and non Muslims alike to learn to be tolerant and spread peace among themselves as Gambians.

“We live in a peaceful nation and we should always be living by these qualities in our homes, communities and the country at large. We will ensure in our capacity as religious leaders to spread the good words and promote peace for everyone.”

“The entire country recognizes his impact in the country and this is our way of appreciating his efforts,” said Alhagie Seedy.

The launch also witnessed a presentation of certificates to Imam Ratib of Banjul in recognition of his contribution to strengthening peace within and beyond his community.

Expressing gratitude for the award, Imam Ratib of Banjul, Alh. Cherno Alieu Mass Kah, thanked the organisation for the recognition and assured of his continued contribution to the promotion of the country’s peace.
