The delegation led by Hon. Kebba Lang Fofana, outlined the severe impact climate change has on development, further stressing the need for legislative solutions.
The NAM PN conference, which opened on Monday, March 25 Theme: "Revitalizing Parliamentary Action to Fight Climate Change" focused on the critical issue of climate change.
Addressing the network, Hon. Fofana reminded the need for urgent action in view of the rapid pace of environmental degradation caused by climate change.
In terms of commitment, Hon. Fofana emphasised the Gambia's efforts to combat climate change, including the Long Term Neutral Development Strategy 2050, while aiming to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions.

He stressed the importance of allocating adequate funding for climate- related programs and oversight.
He assured that National Assembly of Gambia would utilize its power to encourage the government to further its commitment to fighting climate change, saying international commitments mean nothing ‘if they are not translated into national implementation.’
