The accused was slammed with two counts of offences; threatening violence contrary to Section 84 of the Criminal Code Cap 10:01 Volume 3 Revised Laws of The Gambia 2009 and count two willful damage to property contrary to Section 312(1) of the Criminal Code Cap 10:01 Volume 3 Revised Laws of the Gambia 2009.
According to the particulars of the offence on count one, the accused, Eassa Jallow, on the 15th of January 2024 at Bakoteh in the Kanifing Municipality, threatened to assault one Khan Mustapha Kanyi by holding a stick, thereby committing an offence.
Count two stated that accused on or about the same day and location willfully and unlawfully broke the office glass door situated at the Bakoteh dumped site valued at one thousand dalasis D1,000, being the property of the Kanifing Municipality, thereby committing an offence.
The accused pleaded not guilty to all charges levelled against him, arguing that he did not willfully damage or cause violence.
The accused was thereafter granted a bail in the sum of Fifteen Thousand Dalasis (D15,000) with two Gambian sureties, who must deposit valid ID.
The case then was adjourned to Wednesday 5th March 2024 for continuation.
