Faji Kunda Major Health Centre has reviewed its 2025 performance and recognized outstanding staff at its annual data and award presentation ceremony held recently in Faji Kunda, highlighting the importance of accurate health information and community participation in improving healthcare delivery.

Held under the theme,

“Building the Nation Through Effective Community Participation,” the event provided an opportunity for health officials to assess the facility’s achievements, identify service delivery gaps and discuss challenges encountered during the year under review.

Speaking at the ceremony, Officer-in-Charge of the Centre, Ramatoulie Camara, emphasised the importance of data in institutional planning, decision-making and development.

She commended staff for their dedication to collecting, compiling and presenting the facility’s data, describing the exercise as an important learning opportunity to identify weaknesses and improve service delivery.

Camara also stressed that achieving the centre’s goals required collective responsibility and stronger community support, noting that government alone could not address all healthcare needs.

She urged staff to work together towards advancing the institution, emphasising that sustainable progress depended on teamwork and collaboration.

For her part, Fatou Sanyang, Regional Principal Nursing Officer for Western One, who represented the Regional Health Director, described data presentation as an essential component of effective healthcare management.

She said accurate data collection, proper documentation, timely reporting and effective use of health information were necessary for informed decision-making and improved patient care.

“Behind every figure is a patient, a family or a community whose health and well-being depend on the quality of services we deliver,” she said.

Sanyang noted that health data enabled officials to monitor progress against targets, identify underperforming areas, improve accountability and guide resource allocation.

She particularly highlighted the role of nurses and midwives in generating reliable health information through patient assessment, treatment, health education and documentation.

Also speaking, Jeandarc Jarju, Director of Health for Western One, representing the Director of Health Services, described the exercise as an important platform for reflecting on the facility’s performance against key health indicators.

She said the statistics presented reflected the dedication of health workers and provided an opportunity to celebrate achievements, identify challenges and determine areas requiring improvement.

Jarju thanked staff for their contribution and assured them that recommendations emerging from the exercise would be considered by the Ministry of Health.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to outstanding staff in recognition of their dedication and contributions to healthcare delivery in the community.
