The festival fever has already gripped some communities within Fonis with locals preparing to celebrate not only sports, diversity, culture, but also a variety of local cuisines.
Further, this year's event to be held in Somita, Foni Berefet, will serve as a perfect point to promote the beauty of this cultural sports performances, music, dance, and even storytelling.
The fest by large has become an annual event, where locals also have the opportunity to participate in series of activities like - Walk4Health, health screening. and blood donation while promoting social cohesion through ambiance and celebration.
Moreover, during the face-to-face between Africa of Armed Forces and Dipolo of Gifanga, both champions with determinations and certainty promised to defeat the opponent and lift the trophy, much to the delight of the cheering crowd.
At the event, Junkung Camara, chief of Foni Berefet, while welcoming all delegates to his district, equally called on Foni communities to see the fest as an avenue to foster unity and social cohesion.
Omar Badjie, head of the Local Organising Committee, expressed similar sentiments.
Badjie spoke about the line-up of events at this year's fest, calling on all to join them at the event and celebrate culture and a variety of cultural local cuisines.
Salifu Sanneh, chairman of Foni Wrestling Association, called on communities to turn out in their numbers and celebrate the beauty of sports.
