The engagement formed part of the Union’s ongoing campaign to revitalise stakeholder support and renew collaboration with partners, while also seeking new alliances with key institutions.
Led by UTGSU President Ismaila Fadera and Students’ Week Chairperson Fatou Koroma, the delegation was received by Bloom Bank Africa’s Managing Director, Alfred Amoah. Talks focused on entrepreneurial opportunities, capacity building and financial mechanisms to ensure the success of the flagship student event.
Mr Amoah commended the Union’s initiative, assuring the readiness of Bloom Bank Africa to partner with UTGSU in advancing student‑centred programmes.
Following the bank visit, the student leaders proceeded to the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF), where they were hosted by Director of Operations, Ousman Bah. Discussions at GAF revolved around logistical support, particularly transportation and feeding, which were described as indispensable to the smooth running of Students’ Week 2026.
Mr Bah reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ commitment to supporting university programmes and student‑driven initiatives, stressing the institution’s resolve to contribute to the success of the annual event.
