This reassurance was made last week, as the charity officials wrapped-up a distribution exercise of items in its 40-foot container to their sponsored students within the West Coast Region and Kanifing Municipality.
BFoTG is presently sponsoring over 300 recipients from Early Childhood Development (ECD) to senior secondary to vocational and skills training centers in the country.
Mr. Patrick de Vos, chairman of the Belgian Friends of The Gambia (BFoTG), explained that this year, they came with eight (8) professionals in the fields of nursing, IT and teaching, while others are retired civil workers from various fields.
He pointed out that during their two weeks stay in The Gambia, they inspected their school projects and visited some students within their localities, especially those under their sponsorship.
Mr. Patrick spoke of his organisation’s stance and readiness to continue helping the future leaders of The Gambia so as to build a brighter future for them especially in life skills.
During their two week stay in the country, he said they have distributed over 300 bags of rice and 50 footballs to their sponsored students at different schools.
Meanwhile, the beneficiary institutions under their sponsorship include Jambangjelly Nursery, Lower Basic and 1 Upper Basic Schools, Siffoe Lower and Upper Basic Schools, New Yundum Lower Basic School and New Yundum Health Center all in region two in the West Coast Region.
Elsewhere, the charity also supports Bakoteh Senior Secondary School, Bakoteh Annex Lower Basic School, Bakoteh Proper Lower Basic School, Nyodema Nursery School, Latri-kunda Upper Basic School and St. Therese’s Lower Basic School all in the Kanifing Municipality (KM).
