The meeting, which will bring together ministers from various African nations, underscores The Gambia’s commitment to promoting clean and fair sports. Minister Badjie emphasised that the event will not only be of benefit to The Gambia but also advance the fight against doping across the region.
“I am optimistic about the potential outcomes and the impact of this meeting on the future of sports in Africa,” Minister Badjie stated. “It is important as a region that we take a united stance against the use of performance-enhancing drugs in sports. The Gambia stands ready to collaborate with other countries to combat this issue.”
The gathering will provide a platform for discussions and strategies to strengthen anti-doping measures and protect the integrity of sports. Minister Badjie reaffirmed his country’s dedication to promoting fair play and clean competition through this meeting and future initiatives.
“It also serves as an opportunity for our country to showcase our commitment to clean sports and our capability to host important international events,” he concluded.
