The MoU is geared towards projecting The Gambia as a befitting and hospitable tourism destination, Mr Sallah said recently at the signing of the MoU between International Tourism Investment and TUI Blue Hotels at Tamala Hotel in Kololi. The MoU also covers management and technical services relating to boosting Destination Gambia.
“This MoU is very important, because the flights coming from Europe will increase,” he said, adding that the deal will as well give rise to booming summer tourism.
“So The Gambia is going to benefit from this deal,” he assured, saying that as Gambian investors, they need all the strategic support to do more for the country.
“We expect Gambians to support Gambian businesses,” he said, adding that TUI Blue does not build hotels; they come in and take over a hotel and manage it.
“Our company has a policy that as much as you want to develop good results, we are ready to work with you,” he encouraged their partners.
TUI Blue, which is an international brand, has “managed over 100 hotels across the world”, and The Gambia is part of those which are branded too, he said.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by senior government officials, tourism stakeholders as well as international tour operators.
