Two Senegalese MPs jailed for beating colleague

Massata Samb and Mamadou Niang, the two Senegalese Members of Parliament (MP); lawmakers for the opposition PUR were yesterday jailed six months and fined D475,000 each for beating Amie Ndiaye – another legislator at the National Assembly in Dakar.

She was attacked and hit by the duo on 1 December 2022 during a budgetary session.

Amie Ndiaye is pregnant.

The two MPS have right to appeal in month’s time.
