The items, recovered in the house of the accused in Sukuta, included D80,000, Gambia driver’s licence, an alien card, Gambia resident permit, UK driver’s licence, a debit card and other personal documents belonging to the deceased.
The state further tendered a bunch of keys some of which were labeled by the deceased as office keys, garage keys and other departments.
When the witness, Landing Nasso, was asked by the state counsel, F. Drammeh, about what else was recovered at the crime scene by the team of investigators, Nasso said they discovered a wooden spade, hammer and an African print bag which was known to belong to the deceased as well as other items.
The witness described that they discovered the items in a separate building in the compound, which was being used as a garage or store.
After the conclusion of the investigation, the witness said the accused made a confessional statement to the police and he, the witness, wrote his statement too.
The confessional statement was shown to the witness in the witness box to confirm if that was the statement the accused made.
He admitted it was the statement because his personal details were written in the statement. State counsel F. Drammeh then applied to tender the statement and the court admitted it as an exhibit.
The case was adjourned until 8 July 2024.
