Legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese and Pope Francis came together for a powerful conversation shortly before the Pope’s passing. Their final meeting has now inspired a touching documentary that shares stories of young people from around the world.

Martin Scorsese, known for famous films like Taxi Driver and Goodfellas, is working on a new documentary called Aldeas A New Story. It features one of Pope Francis’s last in-depth interviews. The film aims to spread a message of peace, education, and cultural understanding.

The project supports the work of Scholas Occurrentes, a group Pope Francis started in 2013 to bring people together through education. It is being produced by Scorsese’s company and Aldeas Scholas Film.

The film will also include short stories by young creators from Italy, Gambia, and Indonesia. These stories reflect their local cultures and personal experiences, showing how different communities can connect through storytelling.

In The Gambia, Polish philanthropist Robert Szustkowski is helping lead the project. He supports youth development and health programmes, and his work was praised by Pope Francis earlier this year. Szustkowski said he believes in building a world where young people are respected and supported.

Scorsese said the best way to understand each other is by sharing personal stories. Pope Francis also believed in this idea. Before he passed away, he called the Aldeas project a symbol of learning, kindness, and hope. Scorsese remembered him as a wise and humble man.

The release date for Aldeas A New Story is not yet confirmed, but it is already seen as a powerful film that will inspire many through its messages of unity, learning, and compassion.
