Modou, 38, is survived by a wife and four children.
According to sources, the incident was reported to the police station upon arrival at the Banjul terminal where his neighbours, Alieu Camara and Kawsu Jabbie, who were travelling with him, gave their statements to the police.
In a related development, Modou's uncle Sheik Jobe was said to have reported to the police on Thursday 16 November 2023. Mr Jobe confirmed that Modou had been mentally ill since 2011.
Reports added that the body of the late Modou Sarr later found by the Gambia Fire and Rescue Service on 17 November 2023 at 6pm. The matter is still under police investigation.
