IEC names 25 candidates, schedules nomination dates

The Independent Electoral Commission of The Gambia (IEC), has released 25 names of candidates for the Gambia’s December 4th Presidential Elections as well as the commission’s schedule for the nomination proceedings starting on the 30 October to 5 November 2021.

Below is the nomination schedule:

Neneh Touray, assistant director of Information, Education and Communication for Women’s Bureau has affirmed that the involvement of women court members, women leaders as well as women alkalolu will play a pivotal role in ending the deeply-rooted cultural traditional practice dubbed Female Genital Cutting/Mutilation (FGM) and Gender Based Violence (GBV) among other negative issues affecting women and girls in the country.
