Prof. Herbert Robinson, the Vice Chancellor of the University of The Gambia, warmly embraced the initiative and expressed his gratitude to the Honourable Minister for this remarkable endeavor.
He emphasised that these advancements are essential as the country fortifies its higher education infrastructure in The Gambia.
“The University of The Gambia stands as the leading institution of higher learning in the nation, currently boasting a vibrant community of 7,500 students. Our campus features four schools, established as part of Lot 1 of the Faraba Banta Project, the School of Business and Public Administration, the School of ICT, the School of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Education.”
“Additionally, we have enhanced our facilities with libraries and villas, all part of this significant development initiative," he stated.
He added: “We currently have approximately 600 applications for the School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, primarily in vital fields such as medicine, nursing, and public health. Therefore, Lot 3 is crucial as it will not only support the expansion required for these core programs, but it will also allow us to introduce new programs in Biomedical Science, Pharmacy, Laboratory Science, and other related areas,” he explained.
