Essa Faal to entrust GAF with total state security

Nov 22, 2021, 11:44 AM | Article By: Ali Jaw

Essa Mbye Faal, an independent candidate for December 4th election on Monday vowed that he would relieve ECOMIG of their responsibilities and entrust those responsibilities to the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) if he eventually emerges the national political giant of the country in a few weeks.

Mr. Faal was speaking at a Koba Kunda rally in URR.

“I want changes in this country. All we need is your support and votes. If I successfully get elected, I would relieve ECOMIG of their duties and give state security to GAF, our own Gambian security,” he affirmed.

On Wednesday, Mr. Faal visited neighbourhoods and his campaign visited Koina, Fatoto, Sabu Sireh, Foday Kunda and Dampha Kunda, where they were welcomed by mass supporters and well-wishers.

At Koina, Mr. Faal said: “they said they built a road here. That is not true. It is the Chinese that dashed it to us.” He revealed that the country has sunk to the worst.

“According to international studies, Gambia is the second to last worst country to do business. We were way better than Guinea Bissau, but now we can’t even be compared, because they are way better. In those days, Senegalese used to come here to buy goods. Gambia used to be Senegal’s supermarket. But now, that’s gone.”

“Just look at Koina. You are forgotten. Is there any school here? Is there any hospital here? Are banks here? Are there football fields here? Is there anyone in Koina who has progressed?”
