Barrow appoints 3 new High Court judges

His Lordship the Hon. Chief Justice is pleased to announce that the President of the Republic, His Excellency Adama Barrow acting under Section 138 (2) of the Constitution and pursuant to the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission has approved the appointment of three Gambians as Judges of the High Court of The Gambia.

They are Mr Omar Cham, currently the Master of the High Court, Ms Yakarr H. Cox, currently a Principal State Counsel at the Ministry of Justice, and Mr Omar Suso, currently a Senior Legal Officer and Deputy Executive Secretary at the National Agency for Legal Aid (NALA).

The new appointments are expected to take effect in October 2024 and are envisaged to strengthen the capacity of the High Court.

The Judiciary looks forward to the assumption of office of the new judges and wishes them a successful tenure.
