20 communities in Jimara to get electricity – Barrow

His Excellency, President Adama Barrow has promised to provide electricity supply to over 20 communities in the Jimara Constituency in the Upper River Region (URR).

The promised communities include: Sareh Ja’eh, Sareh Sankuleh, Bamba Sutu, Sareh Bojjoh, Sareh Musa Mballow and Sareh Mansali among other communities.

President Barrow was speaking on Saturday night at a joint meeting by Basse and Jimara constituencies held at Mankamang Kunda, in URR.

The meeting was part of his Meet the People’s Tour – an annual constitutionally required nationwide tour. This year’s tour is under the theme: ‘Together we can accelerate socio-economic growth and maintain peace and stability’.

Barrow further promised that his government would also construct roads at Basse Layout A and Layout B among other communities in the Basse Constituency. He added that more roads are to be constructed through Basse Manneh Kunda and Gambie-Sarra and other communities within Basse Constituency.

With regard to youth employment, he stated that the government is currently working to provide employment to 1, 500 youth in The Gambia, while urging youth to be commitment to national development.

Meetings for Wulli East, Wulli West and Sandou constituencies were to be held at Kolibantang.
