He made the remarks at the commemoration of 25th Anniversary of the Accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI- on Tuesday May 30th.
PS Yabou congratulated Morocco for witnessing the 25th Anniversary of His Majesty’s accession to the Throne.
“It is with great pleasure that I emphasise that the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of The Gambia enjoy a long-standing relationship with strong people to people contacts,” he said.
“Just earlier this year, the two countries signed during a Joint Bilateral Meeting in Dahkla, eleven agreements ranging from Trade, Tourism, Defence, Military, Education, Security etc.”
He added that “these agreements of cooperation are serving as some of the instruments nurturing our bilateral as well as people to peoples’ relations.
Multilaterally, the two countries shared a lot in common and continue to engage, cooperate and collaborate on a number of global issues.”
“In recalling The Gambia’s recent hosting of the 15th Summit of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation in Banjul in May this year, I would like to seize this opportunity to express His Excellency President Barrow and the entire Government and People of The Gambia’s utmost appreciation and gratitude to His Majesty, King Mohammed VI, May Allah Assist Him for the unwavering and invaluable support accorded to the Republic of The Gambia during this history making moment for our country and its friends.”
He further stated that The Gambia, through the government of His Excellency Adama Barrow, remains grateful for the excellent brotherly relations that exist between our countries and the Kingdom’s contributions to our human capital development and other development endeavours is highly appreciated.
“Allow me once again to reiterate the commitment of The Gambia to take this relation to the higher heights and ask Allah the Almighty, the omnipotent to continue blessing His Majesty The King Mohammed VI with good health, long life and personal wellbeing and pray for the continued progress and prosperity of the Kingdom of Morocco.”
“As a country, we appreciate His Majesty and the entire People of the Kingdom of Morocco for your support and continuous cooperation.”
