The
Gambia National Youth Council has decided to dissolve the National Executive
Committee of the Gambia Scout Association with immediate effect, according to a
press release sent recently to this paper.
It
said the association is experiencing “leadership challenges”, coupled with the
fact that the tenure of office of the current executive has come to an end.
“Stakeholders
and partners dealing with the Gambia Scout Association are hereby informed to
direct all correspondence and activities to the National Youth Council
Secretariat in Kanifing,” the release stated.
It
added that an interim management put in place by the council “will oversee the
activities of the Association within a period of three months leading to a
National Congress to usher in a new executive”.
“We
look forward to the cooperation of all stakeholders during this transition,”
the release further stated.
