Youth convicted for theft

The Kanifing Magistrates' Court presided over by Magistrate Hillary U. Abeke recently convicted and sentenced one Modou Gaye to a fine of D10,000 in default to serve two years in prison with hard labour, following his own plea of guilty to a charge of theft.

Police prosecutor CPL 3560 Colley adopted the particulars of the offence as the facts of the case.

The particulars of offence stated that on 9th of August, 2010 at CFAO Motors Company, the convict stole two mobile phones marked Samsung valued at D5,800 and Sony Ericsson double SIM phone valued at D4,000, being the property of Lihan Aziz and Mariatou Cham.
