A
young Gambian who recently wrote a book titled, ‘Wisdom and Realities in Life’,
is seeking support from companies, NGOs and individuals to publish and launch
his first book.
Momodou
Yaya Bah said he is also looking for editors who can volunteer to edit the book
which he dedicates to President Yahya Jammeh.
Mr
Bah said he chose to write the book as a way of earning a living for him and
his family instead of embarking on the perilous journey to Europe which has
become the main attraction for youth.
The
book, Wisdom and Realities in Life, is about Mariam, a teenager who lives in a
nuclear family happily. She is hard
working and respects elders.
But
unfortunately she gets a child out of wedlock and name the baby, Samad. The coming of the baby ruins the family’s
peace and stability.
Mariam
eventually marries to Mohamed and together they are blessed with two children,
Yassin and Papiss. Mariam has gone
through series of difficulties and challenges in her life but towards her old
age, the story changes.
The
author, Bah, was born on 18 February 1998 in Nemekunku. He did his nursery school at Nyato Nursery
School which is now Nema Community Nursery School.
He
then attended Sinchu Baliya Lower Basic School before proceeding to Latrikunda
Sabiji Upper Basic School in Latrikunda Sabiji where he sat to the Gambia Basic
Education Certificate Examination in 2013.
He
did his high school at Nusrat Senior Secondary School in Bundung and sat to the
West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in 2016.
