World Stars FC, which clinched the championship title years after beating Famalang FC in a well-contested final, came into the game with the objective of bagging the vital three points, controlled all departments in the field of play, and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities.
The reigning champions were able to notch in four goals, and snatched a resounding win over their opponents to grab the vital three points and in their group have the maximum 3 points in one game. They now look forward to winning their remaining group games to boost their hopes of qualifying for the next round, as well as keeping their chances of retaining the crown.
Everton are currently rooted at the bottom in their group with zero points in one game, following their 4-0 defeat to World Stars in the opening game, and will be hoping to recover in their upcoming fixtures to fancy their chances of making it to the next stage of the championship.
The championship was organised by Yaya Peace Sowe, a journalist in the memory of late Pa Jobe, who passed away in 2003 to groom, nurture, promote and develop young talents.
