He admitted to counts 1, 2, 3 and 6, but denied counts 4 and 5.
Before passing the sentence on the four counts, the accused begged the court to temper justice with mercy.
Magistrate Jabang, in passing sentence, told the court that according to the prosecution, the accused was not a first-time offender as he was currently serving time at the state central prison.
He consequently convicted and sentenced the accused as follow: in count one - one year six months in prison with hard labour; count two - one year in prison; count three - one year six months in prison; and count six - one year in prison.
The charge sheet on count one stated that on 27 January 2014, at Kotu South in the Kanifing Municipality, he broke into the house of one Sankara Jammeh with intent to commit a felony, that is, to steal.
Count two read that he stole the following items: one Samsung Galaxy phone valued at D10,000, one LG GT 540 phone valued at D3,000, a laptop marked Sony vaio valued at D15,000, galp fuel coupons worth D45,000, Sony 03USB value unknown, a bag containing some documents and diary, all being the property of Sankara Jammeh.
Count three stated that on 4 August 2014, at Manjai Kunda in the Kanifing Municipality, he broke into the house of one Lamin Camara with intent to steal.
Count four stated that he stole the following: Samsung galaxy tablet valued at D25,000, Samsung double Sim phone valued at D9,500, I-phone 5 valued at D15,000, all being the property of Lamin Camara.
Count five stated that on 18 August 2014, at Kololi in the Kanifing Municipality, he broke into the house of one Seedia Kassama with intent to steal.
Count six read that he stole the following: two (2) Samsung phones valued D9,000, and one Nokia phone valued at D400, being the property of Seedia Kassama.
