A woman was recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court, charged with common assault.
Fatou Saidy pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of D5,000, with a Gambian surety, who must provide an ID card.
The charge sheet stated that on 12 December 2010, at Gunjur village, in Kombo South, West Coast Region, the accused, Fatou Saidy, assaulted one Kaddy Camara, by kicking her on her stomach while she was under pregnancy.
Magistrate Secka adjourned the case until 7 February 2011.
