London Corner assault case in court

A man was recently arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with assault, causing actual bodily harm.

Fallou Mara, who pleaded not guilty, was subsequently granted bail of D50,000, with a Gambian surety who must be resident within the jurisdiction.

The alleged charge sheet read that on 28 December 2010, at Serekunda London Corner, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Fallou Mara, assaulted one Modou Alieu Mendy on his head and eye, with a broken bottle, thereby causing him actual bodily harm.

After granting the bail, the case was adjourned till 27 January 2011.
