The first prosecution witness (PW1), Olufemi Obawani, Tuesday testified in the case involving Babucarr Drammeh, Babucarr Touray and Alpha Jallow who were accused of stealing from a motor vehicle and being in receipt or possession of stolen property, at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Dago.
Olufemi Obawani told the court that he works as an electrical technician and that he recoginsed the 1st accused, Babucarr Drammeh.
He said on 8 September 2012, he was at his workshop when he was called by a friend, who asked him to go and see a satellite receiver.
He added that on arrival, he noticed that it was his stolen receiver, adding that the friend told him that he knew, that was why he asked him to come.
PW1 said as they were about to inform the police, the 1st accused took the receiver and started running, adding that they chased him and he was later apprehended and took him to Serrekunda Police Station, where he made his statement.
The case was then adjourned till 15 October 2012.
