Gibril Bah, the fourth prosecution witness and a resident of Brufut village in the Kombo North District of the West Coast Region, was recently cross-examined by the defence counsel from the Legal Aid office in the Brufut murder case involving one Musa Sowe, at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul.
PW4, under-cross examination, told the court that he visited the scene of the crime together with the police, but they did not find the body.
“I was told by the police that they recovered the remains of the deceased person at that place in the bush,” he said.
Bah said it was in his presence when the accused person denied being responsible for the killing of the deceased, Babucarr Ceesay.
He added that he was not present when the accused, Modou Sowe, was admitting to the charge of murdering Babucarr Ceesay at the Brusubi Police Station.
“I was informed by the police,” he told the court.
“The accused did not confess in my presence. I did not see the accused killing the deceased,” he further stated.
The case continues.
