West Coast Region Sports Committee treasurer leaves for Sierra Leone

Abdoukarim Sey, treasurer of the West Coast Region Sports Committee (WCRSC) who doubles as West Coast Region Lower Basic School Sports Coordinator, is expected to leave Banjul on Sunday 20 May 2012 for Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Mr. Sey will serve as a lecturer during the weeklong training course.

In an exclusive interview with Pointsports on Wednesday at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium, Mr. Sey said the course will run from 21 to 30 May 2012, adding that 24 participants will take part in the level one athletics coaching course.

Mr. Sey, who guided Region 2 to five inter-Lower Basic athletics titles from 2008 to 2012, will be accompanied by a Liberian Frederick Massaquoi who will also lecture the coaches during the course of the training.

According to Mr. Sey, he was selected by IAAF through its Nairobi office who later communicated to the Gambia Athletics Association (GAA).

He said the coaches will do both theory and practical work during the training.

Mr. Sey is expected back home on June 2, 2012.
