The head coach of the Gambia Football Association (GFA) division one league strugglers Real De Banjul, Alagie Sarr, has said that his team’s defeat to Brikama United came as result of lack of commitment in his players.
Coach Sarr’s side lost 1-0 to Brikama United in the week four fixtures at the Brikama Box Mini-stadium on Saturday.
He said the team played very well in the first half and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities but squandered them away.
Coach Sarr added:“The team failed to perform up to expectations in the second half and allowed Brikama United to dominate and control ball possession in the midfield and as a result, they proved to be the better side and therefore bagged the maximum point.”
According to him, his players were not committed in the second half and when they lost the ball instead of fighting to regain it, they preferred to walk on the field, which gave Brikama United the upper hand.
The disappointed coach Sarr expressed confidence that his team would bounce back to form, as the league progressed.
Real are to play GPA on Sunday in week five fixtures.
