Warriors Handball team on Saturday beat Lion’s Heart by 29 points to 27 at the final handball competition played at the Independence Stadium Handball lawn in Bakau.
The competition was tactically played by both teams through the entire first session. Warriors capitalised on leading by securing more points than their counterparts.
During the second session, Lion’s Heart struggled to level their points to carry the lead, but Warriors maintained their strength and pushed forward by injecting more points at the expense of Lion’s Heart thereby carrying the trophy back home at the end of the competition.
Speaking to the press, the coach of Lion’s Heart, Adekambi Stephen, expressed his dissatisfaction to the referee’s rulings, complaining that the committee should have presented more than one referee to guide the game accordingly.
The head coach of Warriors, Malick Jarra, who expressed his delight at the performance of his boys, noted that the game was just like training to him, adding that they performed more than the opponents hence went home with the trophy at the end of the day.
The head coach further revealed that there was no team that could stand his way and therefore calls his team the “champions”.
