Wallidan/Samger Players to Take on Teranga

A selection of Wallidan and Samger Players will team up on Sunday to face the Lions of Teranga in an international friendly encounter meant to boost Senegal's participation in the first African Nations Football Championship for local based players.

The 2009 African Nation Football Championship for local based players, initiated by Africa's football governing body CAF and geared to promote the development of youth football in Africa, will take place in Ivory Coast from February 22nd to March 6th 2009.

Seedy MB Kinteh, president of The Gambia Football Association, informed Pointsports that the weekend encounter will feature players of the champions and vice-champions of the 2007/8 Gambia Football Association national league who are currently training together for the encounter.He pointed out that the Senegalese team is expected in Banjul for the weekend encounter at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Tickets for the game are pegged at D200.00 for VIP, D50 and D20 for Covered and Uncovered Pavilions respectively.
