Blue boys Wallidan on Sunday beat reigning league champions Brikama United 2-1 in the Week 16 fixtures in the 2011-2012 Gambia Football Association (GFA) division one league played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.
Wallidan opened the score through wizard winger Dem in the 24th minute of the game to give his side the lead before substitute Pa Omar Nyang doubled Wallidan’s lead in the 79th minute of the game.
Brikama United fought back for an equalizer but managed to pull back one through prolific striker Pa Modou Bah in stoppage time, which eventually proved to be a consolation goal for reigning league champions Brikama United.
Armed Forces also beat Gambia Ports Authority on the same score-line at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium, while Bakau giant killers Steve Biko drew goalless with Hawks in the other Week 16 fixtures played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on the same day.
Armed Forces have now collected 25 points in sixteen games, Gambia Ports Authority 23 points in sixteen games, and both Steve Biko and Hawks have each collected 21 points in sixteen games.
Brikama United have collected 19 points in sixteen games, while Wallidan have collected 18 points in sixteen games.
