Seaview have maintained their superb run of form in the 2011-2012 Gambia Football Association (GFA) second division league following their slender narrow 1-0 win over Banjul United in the Week 5 fixtures played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium on Friday.
Serrekunda East also maintained their spectacular run of form in the season after beating debutant Starlight on the same score-line in the other Week 5 fixtures played at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.
Elsewhere, debutant ten-man Gunjur United came from behind to drew 1-1 with Lamin United in the all-West Coast Region derby game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.
Lamin opened the score through former Gambia U-17 midfielder Solomon Karfon in the 40th minute of the game from the penalty spot after striker Lamin Ebrima Bojang was brought down inside Gunjur United’s eighteen yard by defender Fasaikou Touray to give his side the lead.
Gunjur United levelled the score through central back Musa Jallow in the 90th minute of the game from a brilliant header to cancel out Solomon Karfon’s opener from the penalty spot in the first half.
Gunjur United were reduced to ten men when centre-back Musa Jallow was sent off in stoppage time for unsporting behaviour, thus the game ended goalless.
Interior were held to a goalless draw by Tallinding United at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium earlier on Thursday.
