They mighty have endured a poor start to the league, but still remain the most successful Division One team in the country with a good number of league titles to their names.
The blue boys as many pundits called them are on course to add yet another league title to their cabinet, as they close the gap on the leaders and inform Gambia Ports Authority, at the summit of the table on four points with only 6 games remaining in the race to claim the title.
Wallidan got-off to an unconvincing start to the campaign after a strings of dismal results in the 12-club Championship, but if their recent spectacular performance, is anything to go by, they could put a serious pressure on the leaders, as they remain one of the hot favourites to win the league.
They went ahead to beat Real De Banjul with a similar score line in Week Thirteen fixtures before enjoying another victory over Brikama United, a fortnight ago.
The blue boys also celebrated a 1-nil victory against Hawks and Seaview in the Week Fifteen and Sixteenth fixtures, respectively to remain on course for another championship title with a total of 31 points at its disposal.
Wallidan is closely followed by Gamtel, who secured 24 points, while Biko another closest candidate sits 4th place with 24 points.
Samger also on 24 points are followed by 19 points, while the reigning champions Armed Forces occupied the 7th place on 17 points.
Brikama United got 16 points on 8 position followed by Interior on 15 points, while Bakau United sits at third from bottom with 14 points.
Two relegation threatened teams Seaview and Hawks are rooted at the bottom of the table on 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, the remaining 2 games of Week Sixteen fixtures of the Gambia Football Association( GFA) First Division League will continue today Wednesday 5th May 2010, at the Serrekunda West and East Mini-stadium, respectively.
Bakau giant Steve Biko will clash with City boys Real de Banjul at Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.
The defending champions Armed Forces will host the telecommunication boys Gamtel in the other game of Week Sixteen fixtures, at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium.
