On Friday 10 May, Writers Association of The Gambia, (WAG) shall hold a one -day symposium and book exhibition to mark World Book and Copyright Day, at American Corner, Comium Building, Kairaba Avenue, at 4 pm.
The day is funded by Unesco National Commission Gambia. The theme is: ‘Strategies to build a robust writing and reading culture in the Gambia.
The symposium will be followed by a book exhibition showcasing books and publications by Gambian authors.
The day is expected to add to the desire of WAG to build a robust writing and reading culture in The Gambia.
Already the executive have formed a working committee to work on the logistics such as inviting 50 school children, making use of media publicity, and marshaling the writers fraternity to come and attend the event.
Speakers shall include prolific Gambian writers and officials of Gambia National Commission for UNESCO.
