Kebba Lang Camara was speaking recently at the centre to sound the opinion of the management on the achievement and response to seed multiplication and food security.
He commended WAAPP for providing quality furniture, beds, TV, refrigerator, classroom chairs and, by extension, seed commodity on crops of maize, rice, findi and cowpea for onwards distribution to farming community.
He used the occasion to thank the department of agriculture for providing them with a tractor and vehicle to enhance monitoring and food production. Mr Camara also said the centre activities focused on crop and vegetable production, tree planting, poultry and small ruminant development, environment and land management practices.
Camara said the centre is committed to supporting institutions and NGOs to provide training venue and accommodation.
Dr Saikou E. Sanyang, regional agriculture director, praised the management of WAAPP for their foresight and support to revitalization of the centre.
He said the regional agric directorate would continue its support for the upkeep of the materials and equipment, while thanking President Jammeh for his invaluable support to agriculture.
This, Dr Sanyang said, would boost the country food basket, and thanked the staff at the centre for their hard work and commitment to seed multiplication.
